Highlighting the subject matter

Post by Noggins »

I'd like to make a suggestion based on my personal experiences of ''foruming''.
I'd like to see the subject matter / first post come up when you put the mouse pointer over it. Similar to the Caravaners Forum and others that I visit regularly
From my own experiences with some of the many forums I visit ( Forums addict here ) I just don't bother to chase up a subject if I think their heading isn't interesting enough.
Then later I find , when I can be bothered that is , that it was an interesting subject , but badly headlined.
Highlighting and displaying the first post would show me if I ( and many others ) would be interested in what ever is being posted without having to actually open the post.
When the reception is a bit slow this can be a total waste of time and band usage that I cant necessarily afford the time or the $$$$$ used.

I'll look into it Ron. Excellent suggestion but be warned!!.... most threads on here get hijacked! :? :?
First post in a thread may not indicate much at all.
Read the "get together at Murray Bridge" one from the start & you'll get my drift!!
I've been asked why I don't clamp down & stop people hijacking threads.
I guess I should but I don't need the extra work at this stage.

I look at the subject of "Hijacking" a thread as if the original poster doesn't like it then it is their prerogative to request the OT posts be removed or moved to the banal thread. If the OP doesn't mind then who cares? this is a nice carefree place not the regimented place of some other places. Just sayin ;)

I agree with Dot about going "off topic" at times. It can be very entertaining and useful as well.

Aren't we off topic now as the OP was about mouse highlighting the base content when on the heading.
