Why would you wish to log out? - just means that you will have to log in next time, a waste of time and effort.

The only ones logged in at the moment are Bruce and myself

I notice that as I write the post it still is secure (https) but as soon as I submit it it goes to http.
If I just insert https:// into the address of that page in the address bar & refresh the page it acts as it should.

I didn't change anything it came good yesterday afternoon by its self.
