Re: 2019 Christms time
So what are you all doing, going for Christmas? We are doing the same ol same ol, i.e. staying home doing the same ol same ol i.e. nothing.

Dear Dot,
The same old, "same old" is to us that you are fighting on. Giving pleasure or pain to your friends and family. I remember in the early days of this forum and now even now because when Adele was alive she would ask what are you reading. Yep it would be something of you the people out there adventures or problems with such and such on the rig that you were traveling in etc at or the travel time to get to family at XMAS.
This time of year is hard but you choose what to do.
Some families are super close etc, it is was so easy to work though Xmas for other team members so they are there with the children!!!
Yes once again I have chosen to work though Xmas, BUT it is now harder even though we will both be at work XMAS day.
THE SAME OLD SAME OLD to me is I hope you ALL have a great Safe Xmas!!!!!
With best wishes and Forum xxx and hugs and hand shakes to
the people of this wonderful forum .

Re: 2019 Christms time
We'll be cooking a Community Christmas Lunch at the local RSL Hall, for all those without family, too far from family, with family overseas, and those with no family.
Our family (read: son & g'daughter) is celebrating in Melbourne with friends.
We'll be joining them on Boxing Day.

Flying to Melbourne on the 20th for a week where we will have all our (small) family gathered. 3 daughters, 1 husband and grandson plus 2 partners. Going to a restaurant for Xmas lunch - called the Meat Market which might be a challenge for the Vegan. [emoji23] It’s been a couple of years since we were all together.
Should be fun.

Could you include 'not far enough from family' ?Greynomad wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2019 7:22 pm We'll be cooking a Community Christmas Lunch at the local RSL Hall, for all those without family, too far from family, with family overseas, and those with no family.
