Our Journey of a different type for 2015

Hi guys, Well thought it was about time I dropped in with an update of our journey. As most of you know our eldest daughter Kiara has been fighting a battle of Breast Cancer since Feb. 2015, which From May 2017 become secondary Breast Cancer that has moved to her liver, this is called stage 4. No chance of a cure but we keep hoping to put a holt to it so she may have many more years ahead of her.
Since coming off a clinal trial at the end of last year after it failed, we have explored about 3 different chemo' without any luck, her tumours continue to grow. kiara starts another new treatment this coming week, maybe this is the one for us. We are also exploring a new treatment through Peter Mac Cancer Centre, it has to be approved by the board, hopefully it will be in A couple of weeks.
Kiara is keeping quite good health considering her situation, fatigue and weight gain and fluid retention from the medication is her biggest problems at present, she still manages to go to work 4 days a week and continues to cross of things on her bucket list. She continues to make plans for her future. Ivan and I have become her full time carers, so our travels are sort of on hold for awhile, we do try and get away for a few days here and there, just to recharge our batteries .
kiara has a wonderful outlook and is such an inspiration to everyone with the strength and courage she shows.
We as a family are very close and support one another.
Friday we were blessed with a new grandchild , Little Harrison Glenn came into the world, the third child for our son and our beautiful daughter in law.

Thinking of you Ros, Kiara & the family, we just had our biggest morning tea for breast cancer at bowls on Thursday, our president starts treatment in a week for same, she has already had a breast removed some years ago such a trying time for folk.

Morning Everyone. Time for another update. It is with very heavy Hearts that we bring you news that Kiara has entered palliative care, she made the very brave decision last week to cease treatment as it was no longer working and we have run out of options and she simply had had enough. Her wish is to remain home so Ivan and I have moved in to care for here with the help of Hospice, she is very content with her decision and we as parents are so proud of her and respect her decision which must have been hard to make. She continues to tick a few small things of her bucket list and has not lost that wonderful smile and sense of humor. One of her last wishes was to return to her beloved Fiji but that was out of the question, so her friends brought a little bit of Fiji to her on Saturday with a party with the lot and was attended by well over 200 people she has such a wonderful wide rage of friends. The smiles on her face we will live with us for ever. Her time frame is short so we have some very hard days ahead . But it is being made easier by her wishes for us to celebrate her life, and her words to everyone out there live your life now to the fullest you can and don't put things off.

A very down to earth girl she is. Tough times ahead for you all but knowing your mob her decision was made not only with herself in mind but also the extended family. Be proud of her and let the next few weeks/mths be a happy and contented time for you all. xxxxx
