Re: Move to SA
Not for much longer have bought a little Rav4 to rip around in.
Gardens are slowly coming along as fast as my old knees allow it to be done.

Re: Move to SA
Phil does the RAV4 need the timing belt changed regularly or does have a chain?
Pretty sure it has a belt as I've seen quite a few with the valves mangled.
If it says to do it at 100,000 ............ then do it at 80,000.
Russell at the Marina has banged up 2 of them!

Getting gardens finished in the back yard almost ready for the pergola to go up, Then pull up all the uneven pavers and put a concrete driveway down, after that not much left to do

Re: Move to SA
Be careful with the concrete idea, the pavers move for a reason so the concrete will need to be double the normal thickness or it will move and crack up the same. Amazed how much the ground moves up this way, it has twice pushed the box drain up and out of the ground in front of the garage door to the extent the doors can't be opened so I have to dig it up again, and that is after being here only 2 yrs. The pavers are much easier to pull up and new road base packed down under them then relayed than getting a concrete slab levelled again or dug up and relayed. Check out the pedestrian walk ways and see if they are concrete or pavers and how level they are and how many times the edges of bits of concrete walkway have been ground to level them off again.mottleemob wrote: ↑Fri Jun 15, 2018 10:06 pm Getting gardens finished in the back yard almost ready for the pergola to go up, Then pull up all the uneven pavers and put a concrete driveway down, after that not much left to do

Even worse in most Adelaide suburbs Terry! Just look at all the broken water supply pipes?
