Thought for Today

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

The problem with the anti-stall software in Boeing’s 737 Max aircraft may just cause Boeing to stall.........

But did it stall? The air speed across the winds would have been fairly high when it hit the ground. The findings so far are the pilots did all the right things to regain control and repeated the procedure a number of times. Possibly another case of the computer over-riding the human operator, there were a number of cases of that happening in automobiles so there is no reason it wouldn't/couldn't happen in an aircraft. The insane thing is Boeing knew there was a stall problem due to the design, so they wrote software to over ride the pilot control and force the nose down to avoid the stall occurring. If there was a fault in the airspeed sensing the computer would not know the input was wrong and would be trying as hard as possible to increase the air speed indicated by the airspeed sensor ...... a nose dive straight into the ground at very high speed?

Precisely my point.
Boeing knew there was a problem.

The safety override software was an OPTIONAL extra!!
Safety features for aircraft should NEVER be an extra-cost option!

All right Ray....
Lockerbie spelled the end of American Airlines
I've tried but I can't.

How do you get American Airlines out of Lockerbie? :( Or am I in the wrong thread?

No A's and you need at least 3 as far as I can tell, then there is the lack of N's ..... maybe short hand or special editor abbreviations come into play :?

Use your Scrabble board.
It’s easy.

When the American Airlines 747 came down in Lockerbie, Scotland, because of a bomb in unaccompanied luggage, the compensation payments to relatives of the victims (and reluctance of people to travel with them) bankrupted the company.
