Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Unfortunately, that is so true. Knowledge and experience counts for nothing with the latest thinking of team management.
Some business and govt enterprises just want all the old farts to go away.
They want the young ones that are afraid to speak up as management know that they need that job to make ends meet.
I could go on and on, but it isn't fair to hijack Rays thread.
At 64 I have picked up a senior management position in an NGO. Pays 6 figures car etc. Was supposed to be 12 months. Now mine for as long as I want. Apparently I can do no wrong... Plus I do get listened to. So the jobs are there. Yes I am still enjoying myself too
What does a 6 figures car look like? Maybe the dream package?
Maybe a Tesla D with full sports pack and autonomous drive mode as well as driverless mode. These things can drop you at the door and go and find a parking spot, then you can ring it on the phone and it will return to the door to pick you up. No more getting wet when it's raining or circling a high rise parking station to find a parking spot. It will let you know what level it is on so you can ride the lift to there and it will pick you up at the door. Just need the induction charging thing established and it will even take itself off for a recharge before parking itself.
Now to really continue enjoying yourself, the job needs to be via the interweb and they set up the full satellite system to the Winnie so you can work and play your way around the country with the Tesla D faithfully following you

Martin, more power to you, if that is what you want to do. But me, as an old school tradie, I am over work for a while. And I am over new school management and their tactics for pushing out the old guys.......................
Just edited half this post so I can't get into trouble.
Cheers

Ya could spend a few mths in Mannum and help me get the Clean Energy Certification for off grid installations" sorted, still within your old school trade stuff and real easy to do. Then you can subbie around the country just signing off on off grid installs or even supervising and then signing off at the end. good money in a brand new area that has next to no qualified people to administer it. Another easy source of income while you travel and you can organise a work related path from one spot you want to visit on to the next making all the travelling expenses tax deductable ..... gotta be worth thinking about ????
