The Best Laid Plans

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

All will be ok for my moonie mate, just wait and see. Being positive is the key. Lesley have you been in touch with your local MP? sometimes they are helpful believe it or not. Alexander Downer helped me many yrs ago. Worth a try. Keep your spirits up and also the good ol Red. ;)

Leslie, I hope things are looking up for you both.

I had robotic surgery a few years ago, and the hospital would not admit me until I had paid for the robot. $4,500 was mentioned. Apparently, at that time, health funds were refusing to pay. I convinced my health fund that it was essential to my well being and they paid 90% of the costs. It may be wise to check with the hospital about any such ridiculous amounts and then follow up with the health fund, if you are in one. I do hope that the costs have dropped a lot since then . Best of luck for you both. xxxx

If you need a helper, best to ask your local QLD MP.

Well, it has been a long time coming but our Travel Insurance claim is finalised. They have paid all but $2400 which they say was paid to our provider after we became “aware” of a problem on August 7 when Erich was referred for an MRI. The MRI was not performed until the following week and the diagnosis was delivered on the 21st. But we were “aware” on the 7th. Nevertheless, the denied amount is less than 10% of our claim so we will cop it on the chin.

It is so important to keep good records in the event of a claim, not just receipts and invoices but also bank and credit card statements showing payments and any refunds. I even had to provide date stamped evidence of payments made on the same day as the doctor’s appointment on the 7th.

At the end of the day, I would recommend Southern Cross Travel Insurance but I will be very aware of any future bookings.

A real shame that people get treated like this through no fault of their own. Seems the almighty $$ is still in the forefront of every business these days.

Thanks girls.

Well, after a bit of mucking about with appointments, we finally saw the Urologist today. PSA 0, next appointment in April, so we are making the best of the good news, and the cash floating around from the insurance claim, and planning a 4 week motorhome trip in NZ for Feb/Mar. Then once we get the good news again in April, we plan to mosey down to South Oz to catch up with as many of you as are around.

Thanks for all the support.
