Old draglink. Used to be hundreds around but hard to find now.
Nearly every dairy farmer along the Murray used to own one to dig their flood irrigating channels or just clean the reads out of existing ones. Big wide & long tracks were the only thing that wouldn't get bogged.
I'd say someone has hung that fan there just because they could.
Most old ones only had a Gardiner Diesel in them.
Looks that is bigger than most & was used for loading coal? Where is it located?

Old mate bought/pinched one many years ago & used it for many years to keep the Maria Creek flowing at Kingston SE.
One year he was ill & it never got used and nearly flooded the town. Water right up the main street!!!
