I added this to the Asimov Limerick post, but it doesn't show up as an unread or active topic... so here 'tis again.
(Sorry if you saw it on the other post. Just enjoy it again. )
This one's not by Asimov, but it's a good one...
Note: To understand this one, you need to know that Salisbury was called "Sarum" in Roman times.
And Hampshire is locally known as "Hants".
Make the substitutions, and the limerick makes sense. (I hope!)
There was a young Curate of Salisbury
Whose manners were Halisbury-Scalisbury.
He wandered round Hampshire
Without any pampshire
Till the Vicar compelled him to Walisbury.

Re: Another Limerick
In case there's anyone who couldn't figure it out,
the above limerick (with substitutions) reads:
There was a young Curate of Sarum
Whose manners were Harum-Scarum.
He wandered round Hants
Without any pants
Till the Vicar compelled him to Warum.
Happy now?

Re: Another Limerick
The limerick's an art form complex
Whose contents run chiefly to sex;
It's famous for virgins
And masculine urgin's
And vulgar erotic effects.
or...
Anon., Idem, Ibid. and Trad.
Wrote much that is morally bad:
Some ballads, some chanties,
All poems on panties —
And limericks, too, one must add.
