T1 Terry

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

T1 Terry

Post by Grandad »

I've just finished reading a thread on portable solar panels where once again, you (T1) are being attacked for your advice.

Seriously! How you put up with it and continue is beyond me sometimes. I think I would have picked up my ball and bat and gone home by now.

There seems to be a trend with the advent of so much information, both good and bad on the Internet that the views of amateurs are now held in higher regard to those of professionals.
I've come across the same thing with amateur woodworkers who learn their hobby by watching YouTube clips. When I as a retired Carpenter/Joiner/Cabinet Maker suggest that what they've learnt is not entirely accurate, they often reply with something along the lines of, "Oh no. That isn't correct. EVERYBODY says to do it this way." Apparently amateurs on forums and YouTube know more than the professional.

Anyway, I'm glad you did persevere years ago on the CF or I would never have learnt about Lithium but I'm reminded of the saying, "You're a better man than I am Gunga Din"

EVERYBODY and THEY are just amazing. They just know everything. Bugger, I just fell for the trap. If only I could identify those people - I would have the most knowledgeable friends.

If only that were true, but if you believe in yourself then no one can stop you. They certainly can put a lot of road blocks up though and have you questioning just why you are doing it, but this sort of support if what keeps me going. Thank you all

Some times even bad publicity is good publicity.
Sounds a bit silly but tongues wagging keeps your name in the public arena.
