The new guide to alcohol consumption

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

I grew up in the Hunter Valley. Great wine-growing district.
I didn’t touch alcohol until I turned 18 (the legal age).
As an illustration of how our family viewed alcohol, one year my father was given a dozen long-necks for Christmas.
The following year he opened the second bottle.
My first taste of alcohol was a top-line local red wine. At a relative’s Christmas Lunch. I had one glass. It was another three years before I sampled beer.
To this day, (since marrying) I have two glasses of wine a day: one before dinner, and one with dinner.
If SWMBO is absent for any reason, I forgo the wine, as drinking alone is not my thing.
BTW, my ‘glass’ measure is about 120% of the killjoy ‘standard’ measure.
And “Life is too short to drink cheap wine” is a truism.
Regards & God bless,
Ray

Shoulda got down on all fours to measure, Dottie.
That would have been a number to be proud of!
Then again, you’d have to do it while George was out of the house... 🤭😜

You know what really pee's me off sometimes?

Australia has, literally, some of the finest wines produced anywhere in the world. I've had it on good authourity that even our cask wine that we consider only good enough for a bar-b-g if sold overseas would win gold medals.

And, for a number of different reasons, I've never developed a taste for it. It all tastes like vinegar to me.

Often I wonder what I'm missing out on.
