Putting photos up on the site that are “too big”

One question at a time please & once the person asking the question is happy with the answer they'll say "next question please" & anyone can chime in with the next question. (fun, fun, fun!)

What do you use for compressing pics Lesley ?
I used to use ShrinkPic but I'm having trouble getting it to work on the new computer.

When a photo is resized it leaves the original as was and gives a resized photo as requested. It allows basic or advanced resizing.

True Lesley and I do try all the comments. I am usually only on the computer early morning each day, and if out of service could be days . . Do not need to reduce for blog. Have never seen that Coppermine before so went into it, tried to open file but told me there is no file to open or something like that. Shall stick to Faststone but ince again thanks all. I downloaded the onMH suggested which will reduce a whole file at once. Said download complete but it is not onmy computer anywhere.

Kay I have put a very small utility up here on the forum in Zipped format that you can download & unzip into your pictures folder.
Once you get it unzipped let me know & I'll guide you to the next step.
If you have trouble unzipping it I probably can send it file by file. (only 2 files in it)

I use Gthumb, which is small, free (linux) and does an excellent job of resizing, cropping or adjusting.

As I said I will stick with my faststone which I had installed by my IT person when I bought this computer. Shall use it and come down to 305 which has been working. Thankyou all once again. Not being a real wiz I always get a tad nervous trying to get used to something new-like to stay with what I know. (Hence with him for 54 years!)

Lance, I use Tapatalk to post on this forum and when I post a pic it prompts me for size. Image

No worries Kay.
Some time ago I turned off all those warnings once I realized they were mostly designed to insist you used Microsoft software or ones that pay a payolla to them.
I like to be the Boss on my computer rather than it boss me around!
