Deceased Jimny

Post by Greynomad »

It is with great sadness that I announce the death of Jim the Junior Jeep. (B: 2007 - D: 2018)
His remains will be cremated unless someone wants to buy him.
Selling unregistered and unable to proceed under his own power. Auto gearbox failed.
Engine still in good running order. Everything else in great condition. 160,000km on engine.
Recently serviced, ARB bullbar re-enameled a month ago. Body in good shape. No accidents, Minor parking ding only (repaired).
Five good A/T tyres about 90% tread. Alloy wheels.
Great buy for a mechanic or someone looking for parts.
Will accept $2500 ONO. (Bullbar alone is worth $1200.) Pick up only. (BYO trailer)
PM me.
Regards & God bless,
Ray

Steve,
I was having trouble with my gearstick.
That’s why Jim is/was an automatic!

Are you replacing it with a new Jimney?

But but but ........ there is still a bit of room in the workshop yard it could sit in along with the other dead or dieing vehicles, it would have friends then that it could slowly rust away with for its final days

T1
PM received and response sent.
Steve,
No. For the moment we are limited to short getaways by a couple of aging hounds. So we’ll forgo any scrub-bashing until they pass on.
We’ve bought a Suzuki Baleno 2WD 5-door hatch.
It’ll do as a shopping cart for a couple of years, and is under 1500kg, so will still be OK on our Tilta-Trailer.

‘Scrub bashing’ was used as verbal shorthand.
We stuck to semi-made tracks (see my post ‘Used Car’ of about a week or two ago) and fire trails in NPs. The pic in Used Car was taken on the track to a beach in Lincoln NP, Port Lincoln, SA. Just came across it again while looking at some pictures from our earlier trips.
I could have just as easily posted a pic of Jim on the beach at Cape Arid, 100km East of Esperance, WA. That was at the end of 100km of washboard dirt road signposted ‘4WD ONLY’.
Fun drive though...
