I'm guessing it's a 692TTA?

A lot better than those snortin' Scanias & YoYo's!!
More likely a 6V71 but it could be a 6V53, nothing like the music of a GM screaming at 3,300RPM turning fuel into noise, I believe some of them even spun up to 4,000RPM after the owners fiddled with them. Not sure if there was more performance to be had up there but there sure wasn't much anywhere below there  It was probably for the open road speed in top gear

My boat has a 671 gm screamer, wonderful engines, but it now needs a complete overhaul as the exhaust cap came off during a big storm and it got water into the engine, didn't know about it until we got back a few months later to find a stuffed engine. Not a job I'm looking forward to so will be selling it soon.

There are some really good ex school buses down here for sale, they are all in A1 mechanical condition as they go over the pits every 6 months. Have a look on gumtree in Tas and you will come across a few, plus there are a few that aren't advertised, but if you rock up to the owners can buy them for between $3 and $10 grand. Here's a nice Hino.
