Hi from Allen n Fran

Post by alleng »

Were full time Nomads this bus and this stint around 7 years. Currently parked on our property 3 weeks now on Sunny Coast doing a revamp on the ole girl freshen up the paint floor coverings curtains etc bit of mechanical and already have itchy feet. Time to head north for winter. We live in our1981 Bedford Bus motorhome which we have converted ourselves. Shes called Aussie Pride and shes fully self contained for free camping. Were still not at retirement age so we work the harvests around the country...no not picking..to old for that. We both operate harvesters tractors forklifts trucks etc. Were just about to head to Calen nth qld for the sugar crush. Thats if we can source the parts we need to get the ole girl passed for inspection by Friday. Love leaving things to the last minute...not. came across this website when googling for gearbox mounts and here we are.

Welcome Allen n Fran. Pretty friendly mob here but we do like pictures of your rig and furbabies so when you get the hang of this place have a go at putting some pics up. Someone may be able to help with your parts hunt. :D

Hi. We worked the cane at Calen back in 1977 in our care-free days for a young farmer Russel Mclean. Probably retired by now. That was back in the days when they still burnt the cane.

Welcome to the forum Allen & Fran, great to hear from another full timer in a self converted bus. An '81 model Bedford, What body? Ours is an '80 model Smithfield body bus. Adrian Dawes is the man for Bedford parts, not many parts he can't lay his hands on from one of his many sheds.
