Spinaway vents

Post by BruceS »

Eventually I got the 2 Spinaway &copy vents installed on the shed!!
They ARE the same colour as the roof and walls but the direction of the sun effects it........ !!
Do they EVER make ones that don't wobble??

Did you drop it or sit on the box Bruce  you can reshape them by hand to get them to spin wobble free. did you get the ones with the good bearings? If they have the cheap brgs it will have a big wobble when you collect it from 3 houses up after the brg explodes wit a shower of ball brgs and then the thing launches off the post and away :o The roof painting man was not impressed when he had to come back and replace the 2 he fitted and repaint them, yet the one I fitted was still spinning happily 8-)

I suspect one had a rough time in transport. I've straightened it up a lot for now. No weird noises anymore.
They were not cheap Terry as I specified I wanted them for a very strong wind location.
You probably noticed the roof screwed on on every 2nd flute? The other older shed has timber rails & roofing nails that work out after a couple of storms.
One day I'll replace them with screws too.
Local building regs now ban roofing nails.

Bruce,

They start off wobbling, but if you don't get on top of it soon, they'll sag over time.
