Have a look at this 27min Youtube video of the building of Dennis Weaver's 6000sq.ft shack!
Dennis was the star of the film "Duel" as well as Marshall Dillon's Deputy in the 60s TV series 'Gunsmoke'.

PS. The company has built one in Oz, according to one of their other videos. No other details available.

Re: Wanna Build a Weekender?
I'm trying to figure out just when that video/movie was made, late 80's to early 90's maybe. I wonder if the house is still functional? The cost of solar back then would have been astronomical yet every room in that huge house had the lights on. The thing is a bit of a hypocrisy, why would anyone need a house that big?

T1 & Dot,
I think he built it in 1990 (I seem to remember the copyright date in the credits), simply because he had the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
And a few more $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to run it.
