Re: What would you have now if you rebuilt?

Three and a half years ago we sold (well mostly gave) our home to our son and his family. The plan was to knock down all my old sheds - 220 sq m and build a shiny new shed with a 60 Sq metre one bedroom apartment down one side. Well after many set backs including the "Fair Dinkum Aussie Shed" franchise owner going bust at the start of the build, followed by a succession of battles with the local council getting our resource consent for sewerage and the main structure, we are finally at the painting stage with the floor coverings going down at the end of the month. Our 25' Jayco Silverline Outback Caravan has been our home for the last 40 months, and has been great - the only downside is the winter battle with condensation in the over cupboards where the roof and walls are joined.(Alloy wall framing)
Our unit is on a concrete slab with double glazing and 200mm thick walls full of insulation and 300mm insulation in the ceiling cavity. The kitchen will have an induction hob (we use a portable 2000 w unit in the caravan as well) double oven and all the other mod cons. Ensuite bathroom with 1200 x 900 shower and heating will be via a 7kw Mitsubishi inverter heat pump with 6 kw cooling for the summer. Lighting is all 48v DC LED downlights all WiFi controlled. An 8m x 4m covered terrace along the NW living area with BBQ and outside living / dining. The main shed will accommodate our two cars and our caravan and is complete with a 4 ton 2 post hoist which I have had our caravan on We hope to finally move in by the end of August. Our hot water will be bottle LPG Rinnai Infinity califont and will be our only energy cost as there will be no separate meter and our son will be taking care of the electricity costs. (Finally some payback
Cheers
