outside rubber mat

A lot of us have homes we spend some time in. Discussions can be about any topic that may be of interest that you can think of... renovations, purchases, expenses, etc, etc

outside rubber mat

Post by Keith Morris »

"tanks" here---
Can anybody tell me where I can buy a rubber (car tyre type) door mat.
I had one years ago made from recycled car tyres, and searching Bunnings and a few other sites does not list them.
Keith.

I'm now 85 years of age and living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no address, no money, no worries.

Most of the auto shops... Supercheap etc... should have a fair range - at least they did the last time I looked.

I haven't seen them for some years Keith. Gotta watch them as the corners tend to curl up sometimes and can trip you up.
Was a chap at Stawell or Ararat that used to collect old tyres from a very large area & make them into matsa.
I think it was OK with old 'rag' tyres but not sure they could do it with steel belt radials?
I'll keep my eye out in Facebook Groups.

" tanks" here---BruceS,
When the corners turned up we just turned the mat over. The rubber was the old "rag or canvas" type thread.
A few days after turning over, the mat would sit flat again.

Those mats can be brought from any hospitality supplier and many hardware stores round the country and they last.
