Maybe a convoy? woo hoo good on yu Margaret. The back up at Sapphire sounds better to me, don't have to worry about time limits or IF there will be any room for us lot....

Hey Bruce, Just had a thought that when you are coming back through the area would you drop in to see the nice caretaker and see IF we can do a deal at the weir ie book a certain area??
Was that ok Bernie?

Yes ask if we can have the area on the road side of his caravan, more chance of getting internet and tv reception there.

Well the people we are staying with have just moved from Blackwater to Moranbah and they have done several loads shifting but still a couple to go.
Today we are going over to Blackwater in 2 vehicles with big trailer & double horsefloat.
These people know the caretaker at the Weir on a first name basis. His name is Rick.
We are going in for a looksee.
I've been advised that it would be MUCH better to stay on the upper level because if it does rain the bottom level turns into a bog hole and you can't shift until it dries out!!
I'll take some photos & do a movie sweep around?

Agree about the top level being the best if there is rain but winter not likely. We will be checking out end of Feb as we are booked into Fairbairn Dam on 1st March for a week catching redclaw- we hope!

We set up here at the Woodford showgrounds. $15/pn/p&w, dump point, showers. Large beautiful area with wonderful caretakers. Spoke to him this afternoon about groups & they are most welcome. There are great day tours to do around here- the Sunshine Coast etc.
$10p/n non power. $95/week powered. Markets here Saturdays. Would not be as cold as at Bedford. Just thought I would let you know about this place for the future.

Kay, the dump point must be fairly new as it wasn't there late last year.Macca wrote:We set up here at the Woodford showgrounds. $15/pn/p&w, dump point, showers.
