Far North Qld is so very different. Five months of absolutely no rainfall, and it's their tourist season so carnivals, rodeos, race meets, festivals everywhere. We free camp everywhere, and will have up to 15 organised events with 5 to 50 like minded RVers over that time. You only have to go to Mareeba at their Rodeo time to see 1200+ Rvs on the ground, and many heading out West to cattle farm Campdrafts, North to the Cape, East to the Reef and everybody has a different story to tell.

Winter up North is a great event, and because there's no rainfall, every night is under the stars beside a campfire.

Victoria, if it ain't raining now just wait a few hrs
I remember the CMCA forum get togethers were organised in Maleny for the Qld warm..... dropped below zero each night and got warm enough during the day to strip down to a T shirt for a few hrs, then everything back on again. So, just because it's Qld doesn't mean it will stay warm. But I do agree with sharing the get togethers around the states

Maleny is always cold at night, even in Summer, but nice days :)
We still visit every couple of years, but prefer to stay in Coloundra where the weather is great day and night.
Everybody is different, and there's no guarantee that an event organised Today will fit travel plans already made by some of us.

Agree with Chuck & Terry- share the states. We have especially headed south for one get together or another since we have started travelling- we are staying in QLD this year so if we miss out- so be it.

Aren't you going to the CF UWE Kay? Keep to the Lake Elphinstone suggestion, who ever is within coowee turns up if not a "cooler" gathering can also be had for the frogs. :) Someone could even start planning for a big all in one gathering for next year.Just a big paddock with some trees would be ok seeing as we are nearly all self contained.

G'day Ash'n'Wendy,

Basically, what is the site like, size, ablution block - if any, ground cover, suitable for a small or large gathering?

Photo's would be nice if not too difficult to organise.

Onya mate & thanks for the offer, hope all is good with you two & definitely looking forward to the next meeting.
