Re: Coronavirus discussion

Had a customer ring me over the weekend trying to sort out issues with his new solar controller, turned out to be his wiring ...... anyway, got to talking about the jab and he said he wasn't going to get them because he didn't believe the whole thing ..... I explained that Australia will go the same way as the USA when the lock-downs are lifted .... hospitals full of all age groups and an ever increasing number of deaths ..... the fate of the unvaccinated ..... too late to realise you have swallowed a heap of crackpot nonsense once that happens, the virus will be spread through the community far quicker than it is now and the vaccine will only help you if you have had it well before you catch the virus .... no anti-bodies, not much chance of living to realise your error ..... No idea if it got through to him, but at least it gave him something to think about .....
Darwinism weeds out those who can not adapt to a changing world, there is no cure for stupidity, but it can be culled from the herd .....

Re: Coronavirus discussion
Like I said earlier, both the USA & Oz will end up with 100% of the population vaccinated, because all of the unvaccinated will eventually pop off when they catch the virus.
Tough on them, but you can’t legislate against stupidity.

Re: Coronavirus discussion
Seems we will go from limited supply to awash with vaccine in a very short time. About time too. Qld last night made fizzer available to over 60's and Moderna is now about to pop up in pharmacies, no doubt will also be available to "matures" as they say on the porn sites (so I am told)
So, only problem will be deciding which one to select, good position to be in. I suspect there are many oldies that are sitting on the fence, pissed that they had no choice, that will be in the line tomorrow.

Re: Coronavirus discussion
Qld has decided that 90% vaccinated will be the trigger for largely unrestricted travel across the Qld border. Apparently, Anna is listening to those who point out the USA history of infection spread and the silliness of of the Federal plan to open up at 70% of those 16 and above. 70% in the case of NSW is really something like 75% of Greater Sydney while regional areas are as low as 29%. Anna last closed the border on the logic that letting NSW residents of uncertain vaccination status and unknown COVID status to come into Qld and spread the virus to the unvaccinated, was a silly thing to do. There are still unvaccinated people in my area who have been on waiting lists for months. When everyone has had access to vaccination, then my attitude to the anti-vaccers will include comments about cleaning out the shallow end of the gene pool.
Herd immunity relies on having the current herd at really high rates of immunity and that there are few, preferably none, carriers in the herd. Until the Federal and NSW Govts address the number of under 16 year olds who are not vaccinated and that the distribution of vaccinated individuals is evenly spread across the country, then the rates of deaths will surely explode if there is some general lifting of COVID spread restrictions.
