Number 2.
Who would believe that we have nearly one full page of waffle and this is only the second photo.
A beautiful old 45 ci Indian motorcycle. Bonus point if you know where it is

David would your #2 be at Birdwood motor museum?

No Dot, It is in Yandina. Is that an Ariel or a BSA that your mum is riding?

David,
The tank-side decoration reminds me of the BSA logo, but it may be too 'full' to be just the lettering.
Did BSA ever decorate their lettering?
PS, Dot,
I have a similar pic of my mum on a motor scooter. She was the firs female in the Newcastle police district to gain her motorcycle licence!
No doubt at my Dad's urging... he had a Rudge Ulster.

Number 4 ?
Dot, this is a frog, not a toad. The little thing was only about 30 mm long. I rehomed it to a safe place. It wasn't going to last long where I found it.
Question for Bruce, Like Kay says above, I had to resize this twice as well. Originally 232kb but had to make it less than 1000 pixel on the longest side. Now its 67kb and posts OK. Have you recently changed the photo settings?

Re: October 2016 photo competition
This resizing photos is a pain- the reason I do not post many photos here or on CF any more.

Re: October 2016 photo competition
Maximum width AND height is set to 1010pix.
Maximum size is 500Kb. (half a meg)
I'm not really sure why some are having a problem. If you open the photo with Irfanview & simply resave it, it should reshuffle the pixels to an acceptable level. (my terminology!)
Sometimes very good quality cameras will try to maintain the pixel per inch even when resized.
Several persons have had trouble & all I've had to do was open it & resave it to fix it.
Steve? Any suggestions?
