Happy Birthday Bill, doesn't seem that long since had the last one. Hope you are enjoying the day and sampling some good wine to go with the good food.

Thanks all, cracked a special bottle of red (after the special bottle of champers) was a great day.
Received texts from the 2 boys that bought the farm at 6 am with contgrats, daughter came around at 5 pm to wish HB, but also to pick up a 3000 litre tank we gave her, still waiting for son to ring, let out the breath after going blue in the face.
Seems pretty standard for these days ?
Off to Stanthorpe in a week or so for a bash, one of the wine clubs we are in, they throw a free lunch and lots of booze in once a year to say thanks, may even look for a block to park on in summer.
All in all not a bad day, looking forward to the next one in another 70 years.

Hope you had a good day Bill. Cheers from both of us. Are you still in the district?
Time is passing too quickly so live life to the full with your spouse/partner while you still have she/he by your side.

Thanks Kay. Yep still here, slowly extracating myself from the training process and we have started to do a cosmetic reno on the house so we can flog it. Haven't decided whether to build on the front block before we do more travelling or after, guess it will all sort itself out once this house is sold.

I suggest you both get out & do a couple of longer trip & THEN go back & consider your renovating options.
I know once we ventured out & went back we quickly gave up the idea of throwing money away.
Firstly what you consider improvement might quickly be removed by any new owner.
Secondly at 70 do you really have enough time left to really enjoy traveling?
Leaving it too late is a very common mistake.
Can you spend most of your 'assets' before you die?
Remember that once a hip or two goes & other aged symptoms set in you really won't spend that much.
We all would like to live for ever but it just isn't going to happen!
Oh! Good luck with that "next 70" lol ;) 8-)
