Posting a photo.

Post by BruceS »

To include a photo inside a post.
There are two different ways to make a post in an existing thread or topic.
1. Simply scroll to the bottom of the window and below the last post you will see the QUICK REPLY function where you can quickly type a reply & 'Submit' it. You can NOT include a photo in the Quick Reply window.
2. If you want more functions in your reply window including the ability of including up to 3 photos in one post then you can use the Normal Reply function.

To use the normal reply function you need to click on the reply icon that looks like this...

This will open the Normal Reply window.
After you write your post and then wish to add a photo, before you SUBMIT it, scroll down below (8-10cms) till you see some headings like Options & Upload attachment.
Click on 'Upload attachment' & you'll see some extra details appear.
Assuming you have reduced your photo to a decent size (maybe 600 to 1000 pixels wide?) and you know where it is on your computer, you now need to click on Browse. This will open a little popup window so you can browse to your photo and select it. Once you've selected it you should see the 'path' to your file in the upload window... now click ADD THE FILE & it will take a little while to upload your photo to the server. At this stage the picture will show up in your post but it could be anywhere!!!
To place the picture EXACTLY where you want it you need to go back up to where you wrote your message and click where you want the picture. (place the flashing cursor there) Now go back down to where you browsed to the photo & click "PLACE INLINE".
You can, if you wish, place a FILE COMMENT in the relevent place as well & then between the attachment area & the post area select SUBMIT. If you wish to see what it looks like before you make it public you can select PREVIEW.
You've done it!!!

Footnote: After you've selected one photo you will see the ability to include another photo. After you've done the second one you'll see the ability to include a third one. Just follow the same process for each photo.

Good luck... have fun!
