Did the valve release thing and no change so now the thermostat has been turned right down, see how that does around this time tomorrow. No need to shave, pluck or wax, feel like a chook being plunged into boiling water to remove the feathers :) :)

turn on the cold tap. That's why they put it there. doh. :-)

Mind you, we have the tempering valve in the bathroom set to shower temperature. I reckon we do save water because of it.

T1, How much trouble are you trying to get yourself in? Or are you a glutton for punishment    :o

Dot, If it's not an stainless cylinder get a complete new unit. 15 years is bloody good for a copper HWS especially is it has Adelaide water in it. If it is tank water then ignore the last bit.

I agree with Jon we have ours as hot as it can get , then we use the cold to what we want .
Been like that since I was a kid with the old chip heater ...then we got electricity .
The only problem Dot may have is the heater is not turning off there for using power all the time .?
Then again you did have house sitters did they turn it up?
Bernie .

The water is too hot for comfort and the new meter looks like some digital thing (not the ones that spin around) the switch is controlled by the meter not the water heater unit. We had house sitters but they didn't touch it at all. Glori would not allow Jamie to do that would she Jamie:) he he .. We shall have the final result in the morning as it only heats during the night. The heater has only had rain water through it David :) and Terry you shall keep.
