Brad are you familiar with Unix /Linux etc?
I've had a lot of fun experimenting with it.
Out of the box it'll run on the latest Toshiba laptop including printer, GPS, USB wireless dongle etc etc
All office (MS) documents are useable with Open Office etc.
Won't be much longer all computers/laptops will be available with Linux/Unix flavour of the month.

Re: Windows8 forum problem?
In the past I had a bit of experience with DOS (IBM XT) before it became MS "We'll do it for you"*. If you could speak DOS, it was a shallow learning curve for basic functions to get up to speed with UNIX. And only a short time before a little experimentation and WOW, UNIX IS FUN and powerful. The single tasking limit with DOS was the hurdle early Windows attempted to jump - which was a very powerful carrot.BruceS wrote:Brad are you familiar with Unix /Linux etc?....
dawg (*even though, oddly enough, there is still a dos interface I rarely use it. )
Experience is a wonderful thing. It helps you recognise a mistake when repeated.
