Re: Bob n Bevs new tug
Wow!!
Good to see this unit isn't computer controlled pain in the butt thing?!!
2 screw drivers a shifter and a hammer & it'll be all fixed!!
You better skirt around Adelaide or people will laugh at you Bob!
Be very interested on the fuel consumption on a steady cruise speed. Should be good except for the black smoke uphills!!
Does it have an exhaust brake fitted to it?
You might need a 'springing' towbar if it's too solid Bob?

If I remember correctly, the bush tucker bloke claimed these get between 2-4kpl and are constant 4x4. When you engage the diff lock, you get 6x6 and they only have a 4 speed box with no highway gear.
They would be excellent for off road work and towing, but wouldn't like to pay for fuel in them, plus they only have a 68lt fuel tank. I'd by putting in at least 2-300lt of fuel storage.
Great buy, could end up a great unit. Put light paneling on the back, extend the chassis by 1m, cab over bed and you'd be able to go and camp anywhere you liked.

Monopan would be perfect for the back, strong as, light as, no framing required and quite good insulation properties, just built an enclosed car trailer from it, would never use fibreglass again.
