Flag will be flying from our jetty and our front porch (as usual).

The nongs on the lake will have their flags all flying and seeing which nong has the biggest flag on the smallest boat (it's a traditional). Jetski racing with huge flags flying is pretty spectacular.

Best of all, our local electricity station provides brecky for the whole community as a thank you for putting up with them all year (like we have a choice?), so it becomes a large community gathering, with the local Lions club cooking up a storm.

May the day be wonderful for all of you to celebrate in whatever way you feel happiest. xxx

We've got the flags and all that stuff out and I made a floating reserve for swimming off our jetty out of net floats and Aus flags

I've been thinking of mounting a small cannon on the jetty for a shot across the bows to the speedsters< It's a river with 5knts not up on the plane at full chat fer gawds sake
And if I don't get it right ............................. ummmmm ...too bad

Australia Day isn't till tomorrow, but great to see everyone getting into the spirit early

That is true - but everyone may be too busy then to read anything posted on the day?

It is sad, we should be proud to be Aussies and wave the flag to tell all we are proud of our country just the way it is.
This one did the email rounds a while back, maybe a bit dated with Holden backing out of Australia, but the sentiment is still the same
