Maybe a Safari from Down South, and incorporating a few stopovers.
CMCA Rally from Bathurst to Brisbane is $1700 per person. I think I could organise one for a few dollars less than that.

Yeah, really can't understand anyone wasting money doing a safari over that route, $3400 for a couple, what a rip off, it would want to include plenty??

We won't be there as we will be in WA by then but Elphinstone would be our choice. But isn't this Chuck's suggestion for a gathering? Surely it should be his choice where it is???

Thanks for the thought, Lesley, but as we are sort of house sitting/house sharing in FNQ it would seem that we are not going to be able to make any gathering at this stage. Also I am not currently familiar with many areas in Qld so perhaps it is better left to those in the know...

They are both going to be busy that time of year. Lake Elphinstone is certainly the pick of the spots and has more room

Either one is good for us as we will be in that area anyway, just had a look at elphinstone on wiki camps looks good.
