Lavender flowers
My lavender bushes were deheaded after the last flowering but this time the new "flower heads" have formed but not flowered, they are just a greyish colour, no purple at all. Any ideas please. Dehead them or what?

Re: Lavender flowers
The purple has drained to the roots.
You need to invert them for a few days. A bit of light on the rooting system will soon chase the colour back.
For prevention, a fewbulbs planted nearby will prevent futher occurence.....

Probably too much water? They are a very hardy, drought resistant plant that thrives in sandy environment.
There are, of course, many varieties.

Some types do not tolerate hard pruning. Don't know much more than that but I found out the hard way.
