Bedfords and other older vehicles used genuine rubber which is terrible for 'bleeding'.
I wonder if that tyre black paint would seal it?
On my old Bedford bus I rubbed a liberal amount of silicon boat wax into the paint & the stain was much easier to wash off.
Don't do it if you think you might be going to paint it any time soon though!

I have used Penetrol on window rubbers and exterior plastic trim to rejuvenate them. Worth a try if you have some.

Is that the stuff you mix with paint to make it stick to glass and that sort of thing George? There is another Penetrol that is a rusty bolt penetrating oil but I doubt they are both the same thing.... but maybe????Newcastle George wrote:I have used Penetrol on window rubbers and exterior plastic trim to rejuvenate them. That's it. The penetrating oil one is Penetrene.

Yes, that sounds about right now you mention it, will give the Penetrol a go on the Mazda rubbers and Kombi rubbers, they tend to bleed out a bit and make dirty lines in the paint.Newcastle George wrote:That's it. The penetrating oil one is Penetrene.
