Kogan flat-screen TV Fails to Proceed...

HELP!!
Some months ago we bought a 24" Kogan flat-screen TV and spent about $1000 having the overhead cupboards modified to fit it!!
It worked wonderfully until t'other night when, while removing my headphones plug from its socket, I accidentally also removed the 12v power plug from its adjacent socket.
I immediately replaced the power lead, but the TV failed to revive.
The troubleshooting page in the manual gives the "Windows" solution: turn it off for 60 seconds, then turn it on again. No joy. Not even the red indicator showed that there was power somewhere.
I have emailed Kogan's Customer Assistance people/computer, but all I have received is,
"I believe you would like your TV to operate properly. Let me help you. Does the red indicator light come on when you try to turn it on?"
Well, DER! I would like my TV to operate properly... wouldn't anyone? And I've already told them the indicator doesn't light up.
Any suggestions? Is there a hidden Reset button?
Being TV-less is awkward when there's Olympics to watch (missed the closing show :( ), and news from around the world to catch up on.
(I KNOW! I've ended a sentence with a proposition... er, I mean a preposition. ;) )

PS. Can't run it on 240v... no wiring installed for it. That was the point: 12v TV anywhere without the overhead of running the inverter to convert 12vDC to 240vAC and back to 12vDC.

Buy a decent brand!
I am guessing you have done the obvious and made sure all switches are on no blown fuses etc. Is there another power source you can try?
We just bought a 240v samsung, 32 inch...great picture, and excellent sound.

There may be a fuse inside the 12v plug. Some plugs come apart by unscrewing the nose of the body. Some come apart with a screwdriver. Good luck.

It will be a glass type of fuse probably - if it has one.

Yup.
Checked all of the above...
And the 12v plug is a one-piece moulded affair. "No user-serviceable parts within"
Power supply is a wired-in direct connection, not a ciggie plug.

Hi Ray, G wanted to know if you have accidently damaged the plug when you pulled it out? We found that the "live chat" to Kogan was the best way to go. P.S. G also said to make sure there is current on the end of the plug. :D

Hey, George, never thought of that!
A bit hard to check existence of power. Plug is a 4mm cylindrical one with a 1.5mm socket for a pin in the centre of the female socket on TV.
Sort of hermaphrodite plug: both male & female... :D
Didn't pack my multi-meter. :(
A visit to an auto-electrician seems to be on the cards...

Naughty boy, always pack your multimeter even if you have to leave some of your dresses and high heels behind :) Goodnight now Ray x

AHA!!
Solution has been found!!!!!

Installing auto-elec thoughtfully added an in-line fuseholder which was cunningly concealed among the multitude of wires zip-locked together inside the top of the hinged door upon which the TV is mounted. Thanks G for prompting a further hunt along the wiring.
:D :D :D
SWMBO is happy now... we can watch Better Homes & Gardens again!

The multi-meter ain't that big, Dottie... I only had to sacrifice the space of one pair of stilettos... but not my spangly ones. ;)
