Yep, it’s amazing what a difference a couple of misplaced commas makes. [emoji6]

STCs will be Good Friday, March 30 - Thursday, April 6 2018

Not sure if we'll be there in '18 but a good idea from Terry to arrange a combined area for as a group.
Perhaps NOT right down the back, but yeah, all together could be good.
Ukulele 24/7 for 6 days YAY :D
 Maybe 2 groups with a bit of room between them  I haven't actually booked anything yet although I've had gentle pressure applied to do another lot of talks at the next one, maybe I can use that as a bit of leverage to get a group spot some where better than way down the back.... but beside the marathon walk it was a good spot. Maybe out the front where Busman was last yr.

Well we are late starters for STC but we have a site booked. No idea where yet. However, I’m giving the Ukes a bit of consideration as we also have a Uke group at home. So, where would I pick up a used Uke and what is a reasonable price to pay considering I may hate it and/or be useless at it? We’re in Vic now heading to Mildura. Have asked at the two Op Shops in Avoca where we are tonight. No go. Any advice appreciated.

Gooday Lesley, going for the Uke, you're a clever gurl ;)
I'd suggest before you buy any Uke call into a Music shop somewhere and have a play with the different sizes.
Smallest to largest.....Soprano, Concert and Tenor. Depending on your hand/finger size and dexterity one may suit you better than the other.
Whichever you decide on your first shouldn't cost you over $100, they are available down as low as $30.
Search both eBay and Gumtree and you may just find one close to your travels. That said, if you're coming down as far as Melb we'll let ya play with our collection, we've got about 9 now I think in various sizes. Shame we didn't do this last week, we were up that way over the weekend with our Ukes at Newstead, a catch up coulda been arranged.

This is one of many Uke buying guides on the net.............

Ah bugger Lance. We were in Melbourne Sunday and Monday but out at BrayBrook. I think you are somewhere the other side of Melbourne. Might come across a music shop in Mildura or Wagga. Will keep checking the Op Shops along the way too. Sorry I missed your birthday. You’re catching up to me, I think. [emoji6] Hope to see you and Annee again sometime. Maybe for a jam fest. I saw there were a few around the Mildura area on Gumtree Lesley, not sure if you are headed out to Bob & Bev's place with the fridge before or after Stone The Crows. I spotted a Tenor Uke complete with carry bag out near the job we are doing on Sunday and thought I might drop in on the way through and check it out. I can't even play the fool without stuffing it up, but I thought with the "How to Play" classes at STC I should at least have one to see if I can annoy other people who really can play them into either teaching me to play better or convincing me I should stop

An EKO brand? Any good or rubbish? Not that it would make any difference once it was in my hands, it will still sound rubbish

I don't know anything about EKO but they appear to be big in Guitars and made in Italy.
Being Italian rather than Chinese it would probably be a reasonable unit to start with depending on price.

Go on, be a devil, ya know you want one

For $50 including the bag I thought I'd give it a go. It can go with the Bongo Drums the boy got a number of Christmas' back and now act as a talking point in the lounge room
