I fully understood Pythagorean geometry, but we didn’t do calculus. Algebra produced enough paper aeroplanes from bewildered students...

Shortly after leaving school I sat an aptitude test and was advised that I should apply to become an actuary. I may have been a lot better off if had taken that advice. I think I may have become a little bored though.
