I would second that, we have a 50 ltr domestic electric HWS in VP, the element has gone but we have a circulating pump that can pass the water through either
1. a 240 v element
2. 3 pairs of 12 and 24 volt elements drive directly off 2 Kw of panels on the roof, another T1 suggestion that works very well
We can also pass engine coolant past the how water, via a heat exchanger.
If in a hurry we can use both solar and 240 element together, 1/2 hour of that and we have 50 ltrs of very hot water.
