Riverlanders house reno.

Hi. For the members who have camped on our block and have seen the house that will become our retirement home. In hindsight we know we should have demolished this home and started from new but we thought it would be cheaper to add on to an existing home than a new build but the over engineering from the experts and council for an addition is ridiculous and adds a lot of cost to the project. Looks like we may have sold our current home so the rush is on to get this finished. From tonight the back frame is finished and they should start on the frames for the 3mtr. verandah on the north/west sides. Also the air-con. guys put in the ducting today.

Wow, looks fab! Can’t wait to see the end result. We’ve had 3 great stopovers since 2013. Hope we can extend the courtesy some time.

Cheers

Will be a good home when it's finished John & Faye!!
I hope you're taking lots of photos for the album!
How are you going to finish the outside walls John? Brick, Hardie Plank or vinyl plank?

John,
Looking good!
Glad there's been some progress with tradies at last.

Ya reckon it will be habitable by next Wednesday? :D
That's the likely timing for our return with Girt's parts.
(Yet to firm up a date to collect them. That could mean a 1~3 day delay...)

I'll keep you posted directly... and Max/Shane.

Finally putting the roof on. Have been helping the builder this week as his off-sider broke a finger playing football and is in the hospital having some bone splinters removed. Decided it is hard work and I am not going to be a builder when I grow up. Should have it mostly water tight by tomorrow night.
