Good on yer mate !
We are both without wheels, but still young at heart and we are still able to get the legs working, even if only to walk to the letter box with difficulty, and have a rest before walking back to sit down to a cuppa and a biscuit - a TimTam, or a wedge of home cooked Greens Sultana loaf.

Bernie do you have a Good round file to run through those holes before putting new u bolts in ?
Gotta make room for new gunk when you get back on the road :P ;)

I have the spring in and bolted to the chassis, not done tight yet.
I'm having trouble getting the center bolt to line up with the locating hole...Help?
I think I will need my torch to give me some assistance, its dark in there :D
With a bit of luck I will have it back on it's wheels over this weekend :|
I also had the gas inspection done yesterday...all good.

Centre bolt got right size head comes to mind?
I'm guessing the hole is the one in the axle? Be a guess but it could be back & forth or crosswise it's not going in. I'd assume with a different set on the spring it'd be back & forth. Axle on jack so be careful but maybe move the bus a few MM back or forth might be easier?
Might have to let one end of the spring go? Not up tight yet I hope? (OK, just read that)
Get Carol to do the grunting for you so you can put 100% into the job? haha

The usual is to attach the spring to the axle first, just tight enough to keep the axle in place, then when it's all installed do a final tightening of all the bolts
Then you can maneuver the whole assembly as a single unit to line up with the spring mounting points.
This is from my experiences as a truck mechanic .

Back to square one. I had the spring out three times now, still cant get that buggar to fall into the locating hole, it can because I have had it in. But I can't get the front bolt on the spring in when it has the spring locater in
I've tried jacking the spring next to the eye hole jack on the spring and chassis, I can get it about a nits tit from the hole just not enough.
At the moment I have the spring fitted, today I will once again remove the rear shackle again and see how I fare.
Frustrating
I have almost no room under the bus the front of the spring has the radiator shroud and the rear the underneath of the steps...grrr.

If you have the ubolts fitted try moving the axle to line up the front pin then the rear shackle.
