Hi Eddie, there was about 3 or 4 threads under the gunk.
I cleaned them as best as I could, then just took my time, only had about half inch to go...luck was on my side... maybe
The thread will continue when I get my spring back from the repair people.

I put anti-sieze on the bolts that hold the exhaust pipe into the manifold. Never given any problems when ever I need to remove it. (removed when taking out the engine.)
Brilliant stuff. but be careful. It has nickel in the paste which may not be very healthy. ie; don't smear it with your fingers.
