It's a looooong story Dot, I spent a month in three hospitals ,all doing their own thing but the results will be known when I see another specialist tomorrow . After a lot of tests it is confirmed my brain doesn't talk to the heart anymore and my special pacemaker is totally keeping the heart pumping, 100% dependant on the pacemaker. That means stay away from strong magnetic fields, power stations , telephone towers, petrol cars with the bonnet up and running motors and not to travel in hybrid/electric cars. When I received my first pacemaker sixteen years ago I was given a long list of don'ts but now that list and more and is definitely don't. If my pacemaker stops I have three seconds to get to a hospital.I have been this way for a few months but some things are deteriorating quickly. Apart from that I'm going well, I wake up each morning, have a good breakfast, annoy Rita, have a good lunch, annoy Rita, have a good dinner and annoy Rita. Rita has been a great support and very helpful. Hopefully we will make it to a camp next year in May with icecreams.... HaHa :D :D :D

If cars have twin carbies then why can't you have a twin pacemaker?? Lots of Don'ts for sure but if it keeps you ticking over then just do it., Rita will keep you in line. Anyway, you are here now so get on with that positive attitude. Rita had better not miss next year either

We'll have to build you a full body faraday cage https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faraday_cage, so you can get back to enjoying life in the fast lane

An interesting concept Terry. I have one in the backyard, a prefab tin shed called the model railway room. No internet, no mobile phone signals, peace and quiet, just me, the stereo and an Aldi coffee. :D :)

Ahhh.... but does it have power cables running to it? Then it has an antenna fed straight through the walls of the Faraday cage .......

No TV antenna ,just power and data cables buried under 100mm of mesh reinforced concrete. I could remove the data cables these days but the power must stay connected for the stereo and coffee machine. :D :D

If the power cable is connected to the grid, it's a path for an EMP pulse, even run underground between the house and the shed .....

Terry, I will take the risk, I ain't going without my coffee   Did I mention that a 32kv power line goes along the street and 66kv at the corner, the risks are low from power lines but power stations , aluminium smelters and where I used to work (telephone exchanges)are absolutely out of bounds. Keeping away from strong magnets and wild women are out as well. I visited the contagious disease specialist yesterday and I need to stay on the amoxycillin until march next year, then more blood tests to be safe. Then the cardio man in the same hospital on the same day, saves a lot of driving, 400ks return. Things are starting to look positive but like everyone who is not well, have good and not so good days. The important thing to do is keep the electro cardio specialist happy as he is important to me at the moment haha..... :D :D
