simplify replying?

Post by BruceS »

Some time ago I turned on "quick reply" function.
Since I've done that you have probably noticed there is ALWAYS a place to enter your post at the bottom of the thread. BUT on that window there is NOT a place to add an attachment (photo). To do that you need to go to the "long" reply function by hitting "POSTREPLY" and THEN you can see the add attachment function.
Does anyone/everyone think I should turn the quick reply back off?

It seems some don't realise there is the "LONG" version and therefore can't see how to post pictures.
Comments please?

Just a getting used to things i think, change always takes a little while to adapt too, as long as members understand there are 2 different ways to reply I think they will pick it up. Is it possible to mark the full bells and whistle reply button differently so they know that is the one for adding attachments etc? Maybe the line above the quick reply should say that it's a quick reply area and the button changed to full reply or something like that?

"Post reply" is a confusing button name. It suggests to me that you compose a reply somewhere that may be now in the quick reply window and then tap that button.

But it only takes one or two false attempts to see what is intended.

I worked it out for myself. This forum should have a reward system like the elephant stamp I got at school. I only got it once once though!

Sorry Boss... slightly off topic...

Bernie,

That was the fault of my GP... when he did my first rectal check for prostate cancer.

He said... " You will get my honest opinion on this examination" as he held up a gloved hand with one finger extended...

"Of course you always have the option of a second opinion... your choice."

He then held up the same gloved hand with two fingers extended.

I took the former.

Back on topic... I do like it simplified.
