I've never bothered. Rip all your music & DVD's onto a portable hard drive or a USB stick & they work for ever!
Brian is an expert at doing it. Everytime I visit him he's in the office ripping more!!! (when he's home!)
Need to investigate this lingo you speak of so may end up having a chat with the ol fella soon. Have new ph and OMG what a nightmare

Dot, When you play the DVD or music CD on your 'puter you can, at the same to, copy it to a USB stick or portable hard drive. This is called ripping. Because it is potentially ripping off someones copyright, apparently.
If you decide to copy some music to a stick, get the best quality stick that you can afford, because the cheap ones fail after a few years. Ask me how I know
It isn't hard. Once someone shows you, you can spend days copying stuff and playing it back through the USB port of your TV or stereo system.

Dottie,
If the CD is really dirty, try one of G’s wire brushes.
