its a multiday music festival at the base of "big Red", the last sand-dune of the Simpson Desert near Birdsville.
Cant say I am a big fan of the line-up but the missus is wrapt, happy wife, happy life ;)

Wow, not cheap to attend think we'll give it a miss but would like to go to Birdsville.

You can always volunteer for the event.
That way you can get all you want for free admittance and a little work in exchange.
Birdsville these days is more of an iconic place than the "outback adventure " it used to be .

When I first went it was more of a trail than most and when I last went I could be driving along at over 90(+) in places.
There wasn't all the facilities there is now and taking a bus in isn't a great problem ( except for some of the table flood drains that can take you by surprise )

Thanks Ron, we planned to come back thru Birdsville when we went to Boulia for the camel racing, the racing was cancelled for the fist time in history & the road south to Birdsville was close due to very heavy rainfall :lol: :lol: we really enjoyed the trip from Winton to Boulia, wonderful outback country.
