We found nearly all the rest of my shopping list today at a little corner store, (a foodworks) a few more minutes drive away, but what a difference. They had everything except toot paper and no limits on buying tinned foods or frozen stuff. I picked up 3 large packs of frozen veg, because the fresh ones are ridiculous here too. Nobody complained or stopped me, because there were plenty left on the freezer. The shop has a butcher shop inside, and his meat is lovely. So we now have a better stocked pantry and I feel that we can continue to eat now. Yesterday Woolies had no weetbix or sugar at all, no drama at the little shop. Probably did cost us more than a usual woolies shop, but heck they are being more organised and happy to sell what's on their shelves. Not sure how long before we will return to shopping at woolies after this blows over. Time will tell.

I have an email to say that my big glass order has arrived at the local PO. His lordship has been asked to collect and deliver it to my shed. Parcels are 14 kg,11kg and 10kg so he will be needed to unpack the bundles too. Excited now I will have some inspiring stuff to play with, yeeha

Well can't wait to see what your going to come up with next Deborah so hop to it I am on the war path now I got an email from the Auck council to say they were not allowed to do inspections of premises for health issues due to the Virus after 6pm today WT ? They rang the hotel concerned and told them they had a duty of care to their guests and to tidy the place up ??? I voiced my disappointment and asked for her team leader to review my complaint. So I get this reply.

Under the current COVID-19 Alert Level in NZ, only issues that are considered to present a critical public health risk will be investigated by the Auckland Council health enforcement team.
So they are saying mould and filth is not a public health risk?


Person to person contact and any movement within the built environment, including investigations undertaken by health enforcement staff, must be severely restricted, to protect the health and safety of staff and eliminate the potential transmission pathway for COVID-19.

What do they mean by person to person contact and movement??? I suggested it only takes one inspector and they could wear a hazmat suit

I have reviewed this issue and have concluded that it does not present a critical public health risk. Accordingly an inspection of the Airport Garden Inn is not warranted at this time.



This accommodation facility will not be trading because overseas visitors are currently unable to enter NZ and businesses that are not considered to be an essential service are required to close.

What> this hotel is an international hotel and not just overseas people come into NZ but kiwis returning home plus locals that come into their gaming room and dining room

So my claytons copper daughter asked her OCH&S (for a friend) and the answer was 1/ Send all your emails and pics to the Health Minister NZ and also to the PM so that is tomorrows job.

Well guess which hotel was open for business as usual??? I rang and asked if they had any vacancies for next mth and also the use of their conference hall and their restaurant? guess what their answer was? Certainly madam can you give me an idea of numbers so we can have enough staff on.. I said roughly 50 people but I shall email you for conformation.. hmmm and to answer your Question Brucie2 The answer is absolutely yes. So with that I say Goodnight everyone x Goodnight Toolman x

I opened the three boxes of glass in anticipation of excitedness, but the most expensive sheet was on the top of a stack in a box and it was smashed. Then another box had one sheet missing, so this afternoon I sent off an email, with photos. No problems, they replied instantly and will send a refund for both sheets. Sadly they had no more of the expensive one, which I will still use, just not as a whole sheet (obviously) and will have to fire it very carefully to settle the actual glass molecules . It had too much internal stress in the glass, the company did a great job with the packing, just a crap piece of glass. Hopefully there will be some interesting things produced in my shed, seeing as that is the only place that I can go now, apart from the shops.

Ray, I dont have any success putting up pics here, but I will put some up on f***book, when I have some decent pieces worth showing.

Had a very restless night last night. A friend sent me a message at a very late hour, to say that the gov is sounding like it will be closing a lot more places. My nightmares involved the fact that the freezer has not been restocked since we returned home and we didn't have enough meat to last a week. That problem has been solved with an expensive visit to the butchers, but I should sleep a lot better now.

After dealing with shops again, I needed some shed therapy. So this afternoon I spent many hours filling in tiny gaps between pieces of glass on a small sandwich platter. Then I made another plate to use up the rest of the sheet of glass. This one is a square that will become a bowl. The glass is a swirling pattern with very deep blues and olivey greens. It certainly is different to anything that I usually make. Tomorrow they should get their first fire....maybe.

No emails today to the NZ mob just trying to put into words without a long boring book. Really worried about my friend in NZ that can't sell HER property due to her bro putting a caveat on her place. She wants to sell up and go back to her home in Nelson but cant sell until the HIGH court makes some decision (which she has to pay for) She has done nothing wrong yet she is the one that has to put her life on hold while her scum bro still lives the high life at her expense.
