Have fun in the bus Miss Dotty xxxx
We did some Christmas shopping and it seemed to fill the day , but most of the time was wasted by trying to find parking for the little rav 4. Once parked, the shops were busy enough. Most of the presents have now been purchased and life can resume as usual for a few days.
The promised heavy rains have stayed away again and tonight we are having a few heavy showers, but nothing like the North Coast is suffering. Kiln is ready loaded and waiting for the switch to be activated to start turning flat bits of glass into lovely bowls. It's nice to be back at the kiln face, knowing that it should stay working properly for a long time now.

The wheels on the bus went round and round and the pussy on the bus went purr purr purr xxxx
After suffering from post shopping centre sinus thumper headaches all day, I can say that not much was achieved here except a drugged out stupor for us both. Unfortunately, we both suffer from this issue and don't leave home until we have taken the usual precautions, antihistamines, puffers etc, but today was definitely a rest day. Not much to show for the day that's for sure.

Hope you are cool enough in the bus with your cool pussy , Dot xxxx
Had another kiln day and looks like I will finally have a successful bowl. I have had to keep adjusting the schedules on the new controller until it fires just right. Blooming scientific stuff, has me a bit confused at the moment. Yesterday's bowl cracked into two during the first section of heating up, so I knew that I had to slow down the first section. Tomorrow's bowl will need even slower warm up time because it's a bit thicker... more science!
In between kiln stuff, I sorted all the Christmas presents into the santa sacks to see what I had for everyone and what I need to buy. There are a few more things that need to be added, so more shopping needed. Yes, even in their forties, our kids expect their santa sacks to have stuff in them. One day, the cotton will disintegrate, but hey, it's tradition!
We have been promised storms all day, so it has just rained for the first time today. I think I will return to earth in my next life as a weather predictor. They get it so wrong and people keep on believing their nonsense.

Gee Dotty, you must be really knackered out there in that bus. Take care my dear xxxx
Bit echo-ee around here at the moment.
Busy day at the lair. A bit of kiln stuff, then sorted out some things in the van and found the business stuff that has been littering the guest bedroom and created a new hidey hole for it. We are expecting to leave home on Sunday, but our daughter has thrown a spanner in the works declaring that she and her family will stay here Saturday night...gggrrr. So we may have a later than planned escape on Sunday, but we will be leaving here on Sunday.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Which way are you going to head Deborah? I wish my gkids from Vic could come visit us up here. Havent seen them for over a year.
I hope that you can get the hang of your new kiln controller soon, but learning can sometimes be an interesting time.
Good morning Dot.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot, watch out for germy ignoramouses mate xxxx
We are heading up the M1 to Forster on Sunday....maybe.
Seems like there is a virus somewhere that may restrict us...bugga. The news is saying someone in the Central Coast is afflicted....well, it is at Wagstaff, right down on the Hawkesbury River area. Not very close to us at all, about an hour away, at least. We expected this to erupt, since people have been getting very lazy and not wearing masks or following distancing. We could be given stay at home orders, if it seems to be spreading.
I visited the chiro today, followed by a bit of shopping (wearing a mask etc) and more van packing. Can't go wrong, if it's already in the van by Sunday and we get the all clear to travel.

... and Sydneysiders are once again panic-buying toilet paper!
I think I’d be heading for the canned veg & canned meat shelves first.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot, hope the bus has a good supply of toot paper
xxxx
Ray, toot paper is a necessity. What I find strange is that so many people bought huge stashes of the stuff only a few months ago and now they are worried about running short? Really? I would have thought any person with a modicum of intelligence would have replaced packets as they were used, so that their toilet paper mountains are still mountainous. Surely, they could have seen this coming. Whilst we don't have a toilet paper mountain, we have kept our supply to be sufficient to last for at least a month. Why are people so stoopid?
Because of the partial lockdown for some of Sydney, we are now in limbo as to our plans. We should be heading off tomorrow for Forster and our son and his family should be there by Wednesday. BUT they come from the Penrith area and there have been a couple of cases there. They will travel, if allowed and will have to be really careful near us, or they may be forced into lockdown and we will be in Forster alone. Obviously, we are worried about our health and the fact that the park insisted on us paying the full amount before the end of November. So do we lose our dough because it's such short time before we are due to be there. The final decision will be made tomorrow morning, after a long chat with our son. darn it.
Sweet dreams out there and hope your nightmares don't come true. xxx

...
[Not really. I remember as a country-bred child using newspaper cut into squares & hung on a nail in the long-drop. — And despite a recent birthday, I am well short of 80! Although I was just under 10 when Melbourne had the Olympic Games...]

Surely, they could have seen this coming. ... Why are people so stoopid?

[Because they don’t know any better! Can’t think outside the square.]

[Best of luck with that.Hope your plans are not ruined by this latest outbreak.]
