Possibly should be in 'Pooters 'n' Such Stuff' section??

But certainly, Helen, there are some very effective free anti-virus software packages for Windoze machines... most do the job as well as the ones you pay for... so I'm told.
More suggestions are bound to be forthcoming from that side of the fence.

Watch this space... 8-)
Regards & God bless,

"tanks" here ---
My computer bloke was here last week working on my computer and he installed the FREE COPY of AVAST to my set-up.
It is good for 1 year then has to be renewed - again Free.

I had another anti-virus programme -with a name like a British Motorbike - and the computer bloke said that it was causing slow operation and was not woth the $90 or so it cost me some time ago.

He told me NEVER - NEVER pay for an antivirus programme because there are very good FREE ones available.
Just google AVAST antivirus Free Copy and Download it on your computer, then you have to Install it. [Control Panel---Install/Uninstall area]

This takes about 10-15 minuts or so. and gives a step-by-step instruction. Even I could do it !!

I looked up the reviews on the best antivirus and the AVAST receives 5 stars. It is highly recommended on a listing of 10 top units reviewed by a computer magazine author who does these reviews of products for computers/laptops/mobile phones/ etc.

Keith.

I run Microsoft Security Essentials which a free one from Microsoft. I have been running it for over 2 yrs now and have found no problems at all. I used to use Nortons, but it gave me some grief and I got sick of paying for something annually.
On the road full time, sometimes?????
