Good luck with the fencing Dot. Sounds expensive xxxx

Painter started this morning after10 and left around 3. Not too long a day for him. diddums. Said the roof was getting too hot up there. His time, not mine. We aint paying for the hours he works, just the finished product.

I spent most of the day trying to work out the payment thing that arrived from officeworks for the square banking app. It will take credit card payments for my stall, but so far it has been a pain to work out the right app to download, get the app operational with my bank details etc and then pairing it with my phone to actually start it working. Eventually it should work easily enough, just needing a pile of patience, which is lacking at the moment. Of course the instructions and the reality are never the exact same thing.

Sleep well you lot xxx

Beagles can move 300x300x75mm concrete pavers!
They can also tunnel under redgum sleepers — the genuine ones, not the 50mm thick treated pine gardening ones.
Just make sure your neighbour doesn’t own a Beagle...
If they do, a trench filled with concrete is the only answer.
Here speaks experience.

Colorbond fencing is to blame for noisy suburbs as all sounds bounce off them rather than being absorbed. We have a railway line situated north of our property but the sound of trains comes in our south facing back door due to the colorbond fencing located some 100 metres further to the south.

We have that 'good neighbour'' colourbond fence and I hate it. It holds in the heat and is very noisy. Drives me nuts when the neighbours are watering. If you do any gardening near it you have to be so careful not to get anything in the bottom channel.
I would never recommend it to anyone.

We have about 8mts from house to one side fence of posts and the heavy duty ?chook wire but when the other side fence goes up there will be a good 10mts so that should be enough to keep heat and noise down . I would love the old Victorian wooden fence but yep expensive here. I reckon we may be looking at roughly $7k because the owner wants to put a grey colourbond fence. To me that is not on. Missed goodnight last night because I did the sleep in the chair and battery getting low. Back later

Dot, In Victoria, the legislation says that the standard fence is based on rail and pailings. The price of the standard fence is quoted and each pays half.

If one owner wants to upgrade, then they have to pay the total upgrade difference over the standard fence.

...... BUT, in SA, things are very different.

Dot check with the council as said you should only pay half of what the council considers to be a standard fence. If the neighbour want more that is their problem.

Also would not pay until the fence is completed and approved by council if that is a requirement. May be down your way Saturday will let you know. Cheers Robert

Slave driver Dot...not today. Fencing can be so dear, but you only have to pay for half. Suggest a few posts with wire strung between :o :o :o xxxx

We drove 45 minutes up to Belmont for a quack appointment and while we were there made the most of some bigger shops. We went to the hammer shop, a huge discount chemist and the a goodly sized coles. So that was much of the day gone. Until I had a progress meeting for the afternoon. It was a long meeting with a new resident, who wants to start up some street library boxes. He already has one and he feels it's successful, so wants help to add some more. We now have added the book boxes to our latest challenges. I certainly can help filling them with books. Mens shed to build and erect and we will go from there.

Goodnight one and all xxx
