My permanent residence that is - the bricks & mortar variety - & it wasn't on the 'to do' list either.

Yesterday arvo during the wet'n'windy stuff... this happened.

& we don't even have an open fire to burn the bloody thing either.

Fortunately, the upper part of the fallen bit hit another tree on the way down so the neighbours fence survived.

Wow, that's a bit close for comfort.

Good thing no serious damage done by the look of it. Out with the chain saw - that will be great for the campfire at Gentle Annie.

No structural damage but the garden might need a clean up... & the neighbour will be able to use the wood.

... & that's why we no longer have a fire place!

Friend of the eldest daughter is a tree lopper... he came around today for a look & will cut down the rest of the trunk & remove the lot for $350!

He's got plenty of jobs on his list due to all the rain we've had, so will fit us in between when he can.

No worries - it's not going anywhere.

See... sometimes kids can be helpful.
