I am open to all suggestions, potty training was going well until it started to rain this week the first rain she has seen and of course Pearl does not want to go out in the rain, she had been trained to use puppy pad's when I got her and has one in her crate of a night, I have a large blue plastic sheet near the door where she goes out into her fenced in play yard, When it rains she does pee on this blue plastic, Dam it
Thank you
Glenda

Choker chains are a thing of the past now (cruel in the wrong and or inexperienced hands) Shonky has it, the silliest squeakiest high pitched tone for good and low sharp NO for bad Never smack no matter what the dog does or doesn't do..
Glenda I would say you are going to have to go walking in the rain (light showers) and use her very favourite tit bit for encouragement in front of her. Practice your obedience training on the lead.. I would also be out in the rain after she eats and telling her to "be quick" or what ever term you use for a wee then as soon as she does it make the most fantastic fuss of her and also reward her with a treat ONLY the one.. Get to it kiddo out into the rain you two go..

Hi, all.
Glenda - so who trained their dog to piddle on the blue plastic? (har har had!)
BTW the American handlers use leashes not chains, and should one mistreat a dog he may well find himself in a cage for a few hours.

Re: Tips for socialising your new puppy
Thank's for the inquire
Pearl started at the Milton Ulladulla dog training Club last Sunday. We both came home exhausted she had a great day she was taken up with a pup called Harry, He is a Scandinavian barge dog I think? all sorts of pups there even a pure bred Dingo. Anyway to cut a long story short Pearl now sits when she is told 1 down how many more to go?
Right now 7 30 pm she is playing with her favorite toy but minutes from now she will be asleep, that is until about 5.30 or 6am to-morrow, when it all starts again, (& toilet training is going great but more rain is forecast!! )
Thank You
Glenda
